3 Tips to be Productive When Studying at Home

When you’re in school, it is easy to remain focused on studying. It’s a different story, however, when you’re at home. When you try to prepare for studying, it seems that the bed has become comfier and that you suddenly want to just take a nap. It’s pretty normal, especially when you are accustomed to your room being a stress-free place.

But, if you really need to study because you have an exam coming up, you might want to try these tips to be productive in studying even at home:

1. Designate a study space

It is understandable to get all lazy suddenly when you try to study at home. After all, it should be a stress-free place for you. However, if you want to get productive at studying even at home, you can try designating a space exclusively designated for studying or working. In this way, you are kind of tricking your body and mind that you have to be productive in that certain place at home.

Try to make your study space bright and comfortable with colors, lights, and even fun things such as stress balls or stress limes. In this way, you can study without getting too much stressed

2. Remove all distractions

Your study space should be free from all distractions. Make sure that you have your notifications turned off on your phone or your iPad. Remove all the possible distractions near you. Make sure you are facing away from your bed when you are studying so you are not tempted to lie down and relax every chance you get.

3. Find a study buddy

According to a Hong Kong Ibs Maths tutor, the lack of motivation from studying at home could be attributed to being alone without someone pressuring you to be productive. In this case, you can find an online study buddy to be your accountability partner. You can check up on each other every now and then to see if you are being productive or not. You can even do virtual study sessions using online video platforms.
